Many of you are familiar with the important role Tom Monte has played in my life, and I’d like to share a more personal account of my journey with him.
For those of you who have read my book A Healing Map, you already know that I speak in depth about my healing journey alongside Tom. We also touched on this during our last conference together—you can watch the replay here—where we explored the theme of following your heart.
This is also a reminder of the extraordinary opportunity to join my three upcoming conferences with Tom. Together, we will engage in a series of conversations exploring love and healing in relationships, finding your purpose, and the question of true health in today’s world on April 15th, May 6th, June 10th. You can register for these three conferences here!
Tom Monte is an exceptional teacher and healer, as well as the author or co-author of thirty-five books on health, healing, and personal transformation, including Unexpected Recoveries, Recalled by Life, and Living Well Naturally. His work has been featured in leading publications such as Life Magazine, The Saturday Evening Post, The Chicago Tribune, Runner’s World, and Natural Health.
My personal journey with Tom
I first met Tom when I was 28 and about to get married. Fortunately, I quickly realised that I was heading into that marriage for the wrong reasons and made the decision to call off the engagement. Thankfully, my former fiancé and I have remained friends.
What ensued were turbulent years of healing and life exploration. I joined a group of dedicated students who wanted to learn from Tom. Imagine a group of 20 people from all walks of life—therapists, entrepreneurs, lawyers, gardeners, stay-at-home mothers—gathered together in a room for five days, four times a year. There, we received both spiritual and lifestyle guidance, along with far-reaching personal insights on how to align with one’s life purpose (to be happy and to help others along their way), connect to a deeper calling, and navigate relationships.
There wasn’t a single person in that room whose life wasn’t profoundly transformed.
Closed hearts opened, and people found the courage to take steps they had never imagined possible. Loneliness lifted.
No one will ever forget those days—intense, soul-revealing, and beautifully challenging.
It would be impossible to count all the gifts I received during those years. As I describe in my book A Healing Map, this group helped me make peace with myself and my family, while also setting me on my unconventional path—from a career in politics to dedicating my life to the healing arts.
Beyond that, those days and weeks showed me what is truly possible in the realm of healing and revealed the power of a loving, committed group. I witnessed a way of working that reaches people’s hearts and reveals their innermost lives to themselves. With patience and an acute ability to sense and observe, Tom was able to bring to light what needed to be understood and integrated in each person, helping them feel restored and whole.
Nowhere else have I witnessed anything even remotely comparable.
I feel deeply grateful to belong to this ‘tradition,’ which I have since integrated into my own work. Through it, I came to understand that to love is to heal, and to heal is to love. Healing is a path of reconciliation—bringing together the parts of ourselves that were once split or misunderstood.
Here is a new chance to listen, learn and grow. In these three conversations, Tom and I will speak about the difficulties we all face in love and relationships, how we can find our purpose (and what that actually could means), as well as being truly alive and healthy in the present day and age.
Dates: April 15th, May 6th, June 10th
Time: 19:30–21:00 CET, followed by 30 minutes of Q&A until 21:30
Price: The first session is free of charge; the following two sessions cost €60 (so 30€ per session).
1) On Love and Relationships
Why do people who truly love each other suffer so much in intimate partnership? What is within us that is so committed to conflict and defeating love? We are born and designed to love. It is the essence of our nature. This talk will reveal why we struggle, and more important, show us how we can heal our conflicts and experience the love we seek.
2) On Purpose
Purpose is not some grandiose ideal meant to be experienced by a precious few. You were born with a purpose that is continuously unfolding in your life. Indeed, there is purpose in every moment, including this one. But seeing our purpose, and living it, rests on a more fundamental choice, one that is often hidden. This talk will reveal the choice for purpose — how to see it, and how it is lived.
3) On True Health
What does it mean to be genuinely alive and healthy in today’s world? In a time marked by global tension, conflict, and uncertainty, we will explore whether health extends beyond the physical into a deeper state of being. Could the suffering we witness—both within ourselves and in the world—be part of a larger transformation? Might it even serve as a catalyst for a long-awaited paradigm shift?
